What is attraction marketing and how is it different to normal network marketing or any other kind of marketing?

Let’s take a look at what kinds of marketing have been traditionally used in network marketing and then explore why attraction marketing is set to become mainstream in the very near future.

In the context of network marketing there is basically only two ways to build your business;

1. Work with your warm marketing (approaching all the people that you know, joining networking groups and social clubs).

2. Use marketing to attract leads and customers for your business.

Just working with your warm market can be very frustrating and limiting. One of the main reason’s people give up in network marketing is because they have no people to speak to about their business opportunity.

Before the days of the Internet the only option other than your warm market was offline marketing. This included newspaper advertisements, magazine advertorials or ads, radio, flyer drops, putting notices on billboards, bumper stickers and TV advertisements.

Offline marketing is extremely un-targeted and as a result would often be very costly and ineffective. Most network marketers didn’t have the budget to attract leads this way and so were stuck with the warm market approach.

As the Internet became more accessible people started to use it as a marketing tool for building their MLM business. One of the big advantages to using the Internet is that it gives you real-time feedback about your market and you can then hone your message until it’s reaching only the people that are looking for what you are offering.

Web 2.0 And The Birth Of Attraction Marketing

In the early days of the Internet it was pretty much a one way interaction — you would simply read a sales message and respond. As the Internet became more sophisticated people were able to interact with each other and so information about products, services and companies was now coming from people on the street so to speak.

The Internet has evolved into an awesome research tool, it’s the first place people go to when they want to know about something. Good valuable information is the currency of the Internet and for the most part it is controlled by the people.

Sales pitches about a company or product would no longer cut it and so people had to start writing honest reviews about products and services. They had to write how-to type information so that people that were researching a particular product would be attracted to the information and them.

The Internet was basically the catalyst for changing the way marketing is done today — the loud, flashy, in your face kind of marketing has become less and less effective and has been replaced by information marketing or as it has no been coined in the network marketing world, Attraction Marketing.

Attraction Marketing Is Not New

Attraction marketing is not really new though, marketing has always been about attracting people to a particular message. These days because the market place is far more educated and sophisticated it’s just a different message that people are attracted to.

Some network marketers took their old style of marketing to the Internet and tried bombarding people with flashy messages and images of prestigious cars, beach side mansions and the glamor lifestyle. This kind of marketing is definitely on the way out.

The savvy network marketers realized the trend towards information marketing and started to create valuable information that the market was looking for.

One of the pioneers of attraction marketing is Ann Sieg. In the year 2005/2006 Ann Sieg started switching onto attraction marketing using the Internet and had some pretty amazing results. In June of 2007 she released an ebook, The Renegade Network Marketer and a lead generating system to go with it.

This was the point when Ann Sieg shifted from using attraction marketing to build her mlm business to teaching others how to build their business using these principles.

In 2009, Ann Sieg released a free report that documented her story of how she came across attraction marketing and how she feels that this trend is going to continue into the future. It’s called the Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto and it’s a fantastic read…

Ann Sieg clearly states her twofold goal for The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto;

  1. To de-mystify the whole attraction marketing/lead generation process and to show people who may be sitting on the sidelines that it’s not complicated or “special”. Regular people can do it and she really wants people to participate in what she feels is the modern day gold rush.
  2. To help you quickly scale up your marketing so that you can reach new levels of income. Ann Sieg feels that the income she is talking about may even seem far fetched to some people but I can assure you, she is not mucking around. Her monthly income from attraction marketing is in excess of 250k per month and growing!

Ann Sieg’s Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto report is told in the form of a story. She relates how she accidentally stumbled upon attraction marketing and how she applied it first in the offline world. She then goes into great detail about how she then took those marketing principles and applied them to the Internet with smashing results.

The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto is a very dense 65 page report but is very easy to read because of the life experiences that Ann Sieg weaves into it. A very excellent read and will certainly help anyone wishing to understand the Attraction Marketing Formula.
